Common questions about CheckMate
What is CheckMate?
CheckMate is Prevail's AI integration for Sessions. It's available from the Notes panel during a Session and in Session Review afterward. Query connected AI models to answer a question, search your uploaded documents for relevant content, or cross-reference information against the record.
What can I ask CheckMate?
Anything you would otherwise stop to look up. Ask it to check a statement against prior testimony, find where a topic appears in your uploaded files, or pull the exhibit that addresses a claim. Questions go in plain language. There's no query syntax to learn.
Which proceedings does CheckMate support?
Depositions, arbitration hearings, internal investigations, and government interviews, across in-person, hybrid, and fully remote formats.
Does CheckMate require us to use Prevail's AI?
No. Every Prevail member has access to the Prevail Native Solution (@Prevail) with no setup required. Organizations can also connect Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI/Copilot, Consilio, or a local Ollama connection.
How does CheckMate find documents?
When you query a connection, CheckMate searches your files for relevant content. If matching files are found, the response includes the relevant passages and the file names as clickable links. Click a link to view the file during the Session.
Is CheckMate available after the proceeding ends?
Yes. CheckMate is available from the Notes panel during a Session and again in Session Review. The transcript, your notes, and CheckMate are all still there when you come back to draft.
Is CheckMate secure enough for privileged material?
Yes. CheckMate runs on Prevail's SOC 2 Type 2 attested, ISO 27001 certified infrastructure, with encryption in transit and at rest and granular access controls. Prevail also holds federal Authorization to Operate and is pursuing FedRAMP.
Is our data used to train AI models?
No. Your data is never used to train AI models without explicit permission.
Does CheckMate decide anything?
No. CheckMate surfaces relevant passages and links you back to the source file. You read the document and decide what it means and what to ask next. The analysis makes the record reachable in the moment. The judgment stays with the attorney.
