Challenge
Consilio is a global leader in eDiscovery and legal technology services. Case teams search and cross-reference documents in Consilio's Aurora platform. Testimony was the exception. It lived in a transcript that arrived after the proceeding, apart from the documents it needed to be checked against.
Checking a witness's statements meant searching a large repository during the proceeding or reading the transcript line by line afterward. Both took time. Inconsistencies usually came to light after the witness had finished testifying.
Approach
Prevail and Consilio partnered to bring CheckMate, Prevail's AI-assisted testimony intelligence platform, into Aurora. Litigation and investigations teams now work with live testimony in the same interface they use for eDiscovery. There's no separate tool to open and nothing to export mid-proceeding.
CheckMate transcribes and analyzes testimony in real time. It helps the team check what the witness says against materials already indexed in Aurora, such as filings, prior statements, and produced documents. Material that corroborates or conflicts with the testimony surfaces while the witness is still on the record. Counsel decides what matters and how to follow up.
Impact
- Counsel can put a conflicting or corroborating document to the witness in the same session
- Live testimony and eDiscovery now share one workflow, so teams stay in Aurora while a witness testifies
- Work already done in Aurora pays off during the proceeding. The indexed case file becomes the reference set for testimony
- Aurora's reach now extends to depositions. Consilio's clients get live testimony intelligence in a platform they already use
